3 Big Milestones!

Today was a day of 3 big milestones. First is that Jace turned 12 weeks today. Stephanie and I can't believe that it has already been 12 weeks, where does the time go?

Secondly and just as important (especially to mom and dad) is that Jace slept more than 11 hours straight last night. This means that mom and dad got 8 hours of sleep (with a few wakeups here and there to check and make sure that it was really happening). What a luxury!

The third milestone will be addressed below, but it has to do with the house!

On Saturday, Jace took his first trip to Discovery Park in Magnolia. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Here are some highlights!

And on our trip, Jace saw his first Blue Heron and Bald Eagle!

Capping off the wonderful day was movie, pizza and.... Todd!

As for the house, we have major progress. Last week the framing began, but today we can see the floor joists, Milestone #3!

That's all for now. We have a trip planned to Grandma Marcia and Grandpa Ron's house in Naches this weekend. We should have some great pictures from that adventure!

The framing starts!

Today was a very good day for our house. The lumber was dropped off at 8:30am and the crew arrived shortly after to start the framing.

It doesn't look like much has happened, however I promised an update today! Here is a picture of the house with some wood on it and the stack of lumber that will soon be our house!

And of course, here is a picture of our little man. I caught him in the act of watching tv.... I can't believe what he chose to watch.

We have a slab!

Today was a big day for the Paulson household. Not only did our little man turn 11 weeks old (its amazing how we now keep track of time in weeks, not months), but our concrete garage/basement slab was poured. This was a big step for us and this means that our crew can start framing. Some of the lumber will be delivered on Wednesday and framing will begin the same day. We really think that we will start seeing major progress once this starts!

Lets start with the house today:

Now what everybody comes to the blog to see.... Jace!

Here are some of the best pictures of him from the past week.

And who is the coolest cat of them all?

Jace has won them over!

Since we brought Jace home, Sidney and Mia have wondered who the crying little thing is that has been taking all of the food givers/cat box cleaners/cuddlers time away from them. Just this week, we have reached a milestone and the cats seem to understand that this little thing is not going away, so they must accept him. They don't mind him too much, as long as he is sleeping. Once he starts a squirmin', they get a movin'.

Jace has been told many times that he is a very cute boy. We think it might be going to his head:

This past week Jace has been working on his rollovers. He has been able to get up on his side constantly and we keep thinking that he is going to make it all the way.... Soon, way too soon.

And the house... It hasn't been going as quickly as we had hoped, but we are making progress. Here are two pictures that show the garage/basement walls. We have the plumbing put in and we hope to have a slab poured Tuesday. This is, of course, contingent on the weather. There have even been rumors that the framing might start at weeks end.

Jace is 2 months old!

Jace turned 2 months old yesterday and what better way to celebrate his birthday than to visit his pediatrician! He sure is a lucky boy. We found out that our little boy is growing like a weed. He was in the 50th percentile in both weight and height the last time we were at the doctor. This time, he has vaulted into the 75th percentile in weight and into the 90th percentile in height.... That's right, he is tall and skinny! :) Against all odds, however, his head remains in the 25th percentile. Who would have thunk it? (I mean, have you seen his dad's noggin?)

And here are some pictures of our little man.
On Saturday night, Sally Mae visited:
Jace has been working on his neck muscles!
Jace got his vaccination shots today and although they hurt and he doesn't feel 100%, he is still ready to partay!
