Jace turns 6 months old!

How time flies when you are having fun. It has been 6 months since our little man has entered our life and we can't believe how quickly those months have flown by. He has grown so much in front of our eyes and he has almost grown out of his infant car seat and he is already wearing 9 month old clothes. CRAZY!

We have had a very busy few weeks in the Paulson household. We started by taking Jace on his first ferry ride, as you read in an earlier post. We then took Jace on his first trip out of the state and visited Portland. Stephanie had a conference to attend, so we made it a family outing. We spent three nights there and had a great time. Jesse and Jace did a lot of walking of downtown Portland and the weather was fantastic! Here is a before and after shot from one of our walks.

Here is another amazing picture of Jace.. (no strings attached, he is doing it on his own)

Jace is also working on holding his own bottle while eating. Geez this kid is growing up.

Returning on Wednesday, we had a few days to get ready for another big trip. Saturday, Stephanie and Jace went to UW to watch Stephanie's cousin Karly play volleyball. Jace got a lot of attention at the tournament, of course. Here he is with Stephanie's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Dan.

Monday, Memorial Day, we loaded up into the car, grabbed Grandma Jan and headed to the airport, we had a big day ahead of us. USA adult national volleyball championships were being held in Atlanta and both Jesse and Stephanie's teams were playing. We flew from Seattle to Dallas to Atlanta and Jace did fantastic on both legs of the trip, we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived in Atlanta at 6pm and went to our hotel, ready for a week of adventures.

Our first adventure came at the Atlanta Aquarium.

It was an amazing aquarium. They boast to be the largest aquarium in the world and it did not disappoint. There were all sorts of animals there, from sea worms to whale sharks, this aquarium seemed to have it all!

(Jace loved the food court!)

Volleyball started on Wednesday and it was a good tournament for both of our teams. Jesse's team took 13th out of 36 mens teams while Stephanie's team did awesome and won a bronze medal taking 3rd out of 27 womens teams.

(Jace loved the medal and used it as a resting place for his arm while he slept)

One of Jesse's most special memories from the trip was catching up with one of his best friends from college, Jody Brooks. It had been 7 years since we had seen each other, so it was very special to introduce him to Stephanie and Jace.

We had lots of friends that played on our team and a few other Seattle teams. Here are a few of the great pictures.

(Jace loves Matt!)

One of Jace's friend, Rocco, was there with his mom Teanah and Teanah's parents. It was so cute watching the two boys interact.

On our last day in Atlanta, we made a quick trip to the Coca-Cola museum, which was a lot of fun. We didn't have enough time there, but we did make it around to a bunch of the sights and got to sample a lot of coke products from around the world.

And here is a picture of Steph bonding with statues.

Upon our return, not much had happened with the house. More to come on that in a later post. We were happy to see, however, that one of our stray cats had found the front porch.

A few more firsts happened yesterday. Jace started on rice cereal yesterday (and boy was it messy).

And Jace found that he can now put his foot in his mouth, though he needs a lot more practice before he puts his foot in his mouth like his daddy....

There were other firsts, but that is all the time we have now. More posts to come soon. In the meantime, this picture sums up how we feel after our past few weeks of going.
