Sunday was zoo day for the Paulsons. Jace had been to the zoo twice before Sunday and has loved it each time, so much so that we purchased an annual pass so that he can see all of the animals more often!
We started in the barn area and saw a lot of what Jace can see at or around Grandpa Ron and Grandma Marcia's house.
After the barn area, we went and scoped out the pink flamingos...
We then moved to the Zoomasium, where they had a bunch of indoor activities for young kids and Jace was loving it. There was the interactive fish tank (ok, it was just a fish tank, but they called it the interactive fish tank), a slide, a play area, an elephant and we got there just in time for a show. Laurel, one of the zoo staffers, had all of the kids hopping around the Zoomasium like they were rabbits. It was very cute and lots of fun!
Piranhas anyone?
I put myself in an awkward position here, good thing the bird didn't have any "accidents".
The gorillas were out and about, having a good time. We even saw a mom carrying a young one on her back.
The tiger was sitting outside and Jace loved the kitty.
The zoo has a great bald eagle/golden eagle exhibit. They will take in injured bald and golden eagles and help nurse them back to health. Once back to health, they release the eagles back into the wild. Very cool!
We love the Wallabies and the birds of prey!
The last big animals we saw were the elephants and Jace loves to watch them.
This is one of my favorite sequences:
